Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton has charged a local hypnotherapist with three felony counts related to an alleged sexual assault of a patient under his care.
John Gary Tomlinson, 65, of Flint, has been charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of unlawful imprisonment, and one count of assault by strangulation related to an incident that occurred at his office in Grand Blanc Township on April 17, 2017.
According to investigative reports, Grand Blanc Township police officers were dispatched to Tomlinson’s hypnotherapy office on Holly Road after a patient Tomlinson was treating reported that Tomlinson had sexually assaulted her while she was undergoing her fourth hypnotherapy session.
Tomlinson will be arraigned on the charges in 67th District Court. Local attorney Michael Manley will be representing Tomlinson.
