GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI -- A hypnotherapist is accused of sexually assaulting his patient, according to a statement from Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

The 65-year-old Flint man faces felony charges that include first-degree criminal sexual conduct, unlawful imprisonment and one count of assault by strangulation, the statement said.

An arraignment has not yet been held on the charges. MLive-The Flint Journal does not typically identify suspects until they have been arraigned.

The incident allegedly occurred at the man's Grand Blanc Township office on April 17.

Grand Blanc Township police were dispatched to the man's hypnotherapy office on Holly Road after a patient under the care of the man reported the man sexually assaulted her while she was undergoing her fourth session, the statement said.

The man is expected to be arraigned on the charges in Genesee District Court.
